Company Overview

Auxadyne, LLC was founded in April 2015 for the purpose of commercializing our patent pending auxetic polyurethane foam technology. Auxadyne has an exclusive licensing agreement with Florida State University (FSU) for the design, manufacturing, and distribution of the first commercially available auxetic foam to end-market product manufacturers in a variety of medical device and protective equipment industries. Auxadyne’s licensing agreement with FSU includes exclusive rights to two pending U.S. Patents; one describing the manufacturing process of converting conventional polyurethane foam to auxetic polyurethane foam, and the second for the use of auxetic foam in a prosthetic sock application for leg amputees. This technology was an outcome of a two-year U.S. Department of Veterans Administration funded project at The High Performance Material Institute at FSU.

Auxadyne’ first commercial success was in athletic protective equipment and footwear. The counterintuitive material characteristics of auxetic foam provide superior impact resistance, enable autonomous response to volume changes, eliminate pressure points, and allow for creaseless concave and convex forming. Auxadyne’s patent pending process converts a conventional off-the-shelf polyurethane foam to auxetic foam without compromising the attractive features of conventional polyurethane foam including light weight, flexibility and breathability.
